Some tips when measuring for curtains:
| Use a metal tape measure and measure in millimetres for greater accuracy |
| Measure the area that you want to cover, not just the window |
| If tracks overlap, include the overlap in your measurements |
| Poles or tracks are best fixed about 10 cm clear above the window |
| Make allowances for fabric shrinkage |
It is best to get your curtainmaker to measure. These are only guidelines and are meant to give you a rough idea of fabric quantities.
