A contemporary style with a soft gather. The eyelets will be punched into the curtain heading for threading the pole. This style requires fabric at least 2.5 times the width of the area to be covered.
A Rough Guide to Fabric Quantities
Measure the width of the space (not just the window) and multiply by 2.5.
Divide the result by the width of your fabric.
If the result is a fraction, it is generally best to round it up. This gives you the number of drops that you need.
Measure from 10cm above the pole to floor or sill. Add 35 cm (14") for hems. If you have a patterned fabric add on the repeat size as well.
Multiply the resulting length by the number of drops. This is gives you a rough idea of the amount of fabric that you require.
