 Fabric Care
  • Turn cushions regularly, beat well and plump.
  • Clean treated leather with a soft, damp cloth, and not a detergent. Renew it by polishing with a proprietary hide cleaner every 6 weeks.
  • To protect against clothes moths, avoid leaving fabrics untouched for a long time. Move, clean and air regularly. Avoid the accumulation of dust and fluff where moths can breed. Cedar wood and lavender may be used as alternatives to mothballs.
  • To check if a fabric will run, dampen a corner and iron between white cloth: if the colour shows up on the white cloth, the fabric is liable to run.
  • Stiff silks can often be made floppier by having the natural gum removed in dry cleaning.
